Onestopclil – The Resource Bank for CLIL Teachers

Who is onestopclil for?

Onestopclil is a new teaching resources site for primary and secondary CLIL teachers who use English as the language of instruction.

What does ‘CLIL’ mean?

CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning. It refers to teaching subjects such as science, history and geography to students through a foreign language. This can be by the English teacher using ‘real’ content or the subject teacher using English. Both methods result in the simultaneous learning of content and English.

What will be on the site?

An exciting range of flexible, ready-made CLIL resources for both English language teachers and subject teachers including:

  • access to Interactive Worlds – a new digital teaching resource containing interactive whiteboard materials

  • images and diagrams to download and label

  • access to the Macmillan Schools Dictionary containing key subject vocabulary for secondary school students

  • subject-specific wordlists for students with clear definitions

  • Science Museum games, worksheets and animations to use in class

  • topic-based webquests and projects

  • teaching tips and methodology articles to help you teach CLIL effectively

How much does it cost to subscribe?

For €50 / £35 a year you get unlimited access to all our CLIL resources including access to the Macmillan Schools Dictionary and Interactive Worlds. New resources are added to monthly.

What is available for free?

Our free resources include:

  • lesson share area where you can share ideas, resources and lesson plans

  • discussion forum – the area where CLIL teachers can exchange their experiences and debate the issues behind CLIL

  • CLIL Teacher magazine – with regular articles by CLIL teachers, tips, news and CLIL events.
